Resident Evil 5 will Require a 5 gig Install

I don’t think anybody really had a clue what kind of epidemic would spring up back when Capcom first announced that they would require a mandatory HDD install in order to play Devil May Cry 4. The news came out today that RE5 will require a whopping five gigabyte installation in order to play the game on the PlayStation 3.

Once again, Xbox 360 gamers are in the clear as that version of the game will not require the install. No one has ever fully explained to gamers why this is the case. Why do so many games require a mandatory install on the PS3, but not on the 360?

Killzone 2 Demo Gets Release Date

Today the Resident Evil 5 demo became available on the PlayStation Network, but that wasn’t the best demo-related news that PS3 owners received. In just a few days time, the Killzone 2 demo will become available to those who preordered the game at GameStop.

For those of you who haven’t preordered the game from GameStop, you’ll still be able to get the demo, but you’ll have to wait until February 26th to download it.

Robert Ludlum is the New Tom Clancy

Today EA announced that they have secured the rights to the written works of Robert Ludlum, the author of the Jason Bourne novels upon which the wildly popular movies are based. What’s great about this though is that Chronicles of Riddick developer Starbreeze will be handling the first game in the series.

Odds are EA is planning on turning Robert Ludlum into the next Tom Clancy, and developing a brand specifically off adaptations of his books. I can think of few studios more qualified than Starbreeze to handle this. Their experience creating first-person-hand-to-hand combat in Chronicles of Riddick should adapt itself perfectly to the Bourne universe.

E3 is so Totally Back…

If you had any doubts whatsoever about whether or not E3 would be returning in full capacity, please allow those doubts to be laid to rest at this time. After three years of the “downsized” version of E3, the ESA is finally returning it to its true glory.

Attendance is said to already be close to ten times the previous version, with more than double the exhibitors scheduled. There are even reports that companies are being allowed to bring booth babes back after being banned from the event several years ago.
