bBb – Game Basics

b.1 – Introduction

 

Hi everyone! It’s summer! w00t! I decided to make another guide this summer

since my PBR one was such a hit. This game is pretty fun, it really

encourages you to get moving and to be more physically fit. You can get into

shape by taking body tests, doing yoga, performing strength exercises,

taking part in balance games, and getting your body moving in aerobic

exercises. This game is a creative way to get your whole family moving. There

are only a few downsides: the cost, and there are no multiplayer games. So,

besides those 2 things, the game is pretty cool.

b.2 – Getting Started

 

1. Put the game disc in your Wii.

2. Select the Game Disc Channel on the main Wii Menu.

3. Continue pressing A as you do when you start a normal game.

4. You will then need to connect the board. SYNC it, like you do with the

Wii Remotes. ((The SYNC is in the battery area on the board))

5. You will then be able to pick a mii and create your first account!

b.3 – Basic Controls

 

On the main menu, the controls are quite simple. Move the cursor with the

Wii Remote, and use "A" to select. Here’s a list of complete controls:

 

Pointer: Used to move the cursor

A Button: Select

B Button: Back/Cancel

Home Button: Home Menu

+ Button: Flip calendar forward

– Button: Flip calendar backwards

b.4 – Main Menu

 

On the Wii Fit main menu, there are 5 main things:

 

The Calendar: See your BMI and Fit Credits along with the other profiles

on your game.

Wii Menu Button: Click this button to return to the Wii Menu

Add New profile: Click here to add another profile to your Wii Fit game. You

can have up to 8 characters on your Wii.

Options: Use this button to change your look, personal info, and personal

trainer.

cCc – The Body Test

c.1 – Creating Your Profile

 

When you first start, you have to create a profile. You will first be asked to

select a Mii to represent you in this game. The name of the Mii is what the

game will use as your name.

 

Then, you will be shown some diagrams aboutposture. After you finish that

part, it will inform you that it’s beginninga body test. All you need to do is

enter your height and date of birth, andyour DOB should already be there from

when you made the Mii.

 

It will thencontinue on, it will weigh you and show you your BMI and weight

if you want. It will then show you your first Body Test minigame, the Basic

Balance Test. As soon as you complete the test and find out your Wii Fit age,

you will be prompted to set a weight/BMI goal for the next 2 weeks/month, etc.

If you want to keep the same weight, then you can just keep it at +/- 0.

 

Then, create a password if you would like, and then you’re free to create more

profiles or train your current character.

c.2 – Body Test Minigames

 

Body Test Minigames are chosen randomly. There is no way to "unlock" them.

 

– Basic Balance Test: Shift your balance to move your red bar into the blue

area.

– Walking Test: Simply walk 20 steps in place on the balance board.

– Agility Test: Shift your COB to hit all of the blocks that appear.

– Single Leg Balance Test: Stand on one leg in the center of the balance

board, and stay as steady as possible.

– Stillness Test: Stay as still as possible for 30 seconds while the box moves

around the screen.

Notes: This stretch looks easy, and to some it is, but if you just started, you

might want to try other poses first. This one really works to streth your core

muscles, but probably should have been an unlockable.

Notes: This pose is easy to get the hang of. It’s ideal for beginners because

it also helps you with balance and focus. It’s a good stretch and isn’t very

hard.

Notes: This pose is hard to get the hang of, but as soon as you do, it’s a

piece of cake. It’s also funny to watch your friends do! Oh, and a tip I have

is to never do this pose in shorts because it hurts your leg when your foot

rubs against it.

the entire time, but one you get it right, it helps with your balance and

stability tests.

Notes: I find this pose fun, because you get to move, which is something that

most yoga poses don’t allow you to do. And, this pose is easy as long as you

can stand on one foot steadily.

Helps to: stregthen ankles, stretches back

Notes: This pose is pretty tricky. It’s hard to balance while looking at the

screen, an being on your tip toes doesn’t help. This pose should be easy if

you’re a dancer, but most of us aren’t ((most of us can’t dance at all XD))

Notes: This pose is NOT easy. You really have to work at it to get it right.

Notes: Normally, you can just skip to TRY IT when you’re doing yoga, because

they normally explain everything. For this pose, I would RECCOMEND that you

learn how to do it first. It’s a little more complicated when you try to just

follow your trainer.

high score, and I have to admit that I suck at push-ups, but if you try and

you feel the muscle working, then you’ll get the points.

stomach working. It’s also straight to the point, and simple to learn. This

is one of the few that really works like you’re actually working out.

Notes: This one is good for stretching your legs. The first time I did it I

completely sucked, but I got better after doing it a few times. It’s almost

impossible not to get 100 points, but if you actually do the exercise right,

then it’s more rewarding.

Helps to: strengthen side and shoulder muscles

Notes: This exercise is great for working on balance. The first time, it may

be a little hard to stay in the yellow area, but it gets easier. It might

suprise you when you do it the first time, because they don’t really hold it

like you’d think they would.

Notes: This pose is difficult, and really puts some strain on your arm. This

excersize is good though. It helps you train your endurance.

Helps to: stregthen core muscles

Challenge: See if you or your trainer can hold the plank the longest.

Fit Credits to unlock: none, do plank at least 3 times, getting at least 1 star

each time.

Notes: The first time you beat your trainer, you get 2 stars. Note that there

are 7 stars for the challenges, so you have to beat your trainer 6 times,

each time longer than the last one, to get all 7 stars. I actually like this

one because it pushes you, and it shows your trainer’s weak side.

Helps to: tone chest, shoulder, and arm muscles

Challenge: See if you or your trainer can do the most push ups

at least one star each time.

Notes: Just like the Plank Challenge, there are 7 stars possible. Each time

you beat your trainer, you get an additional star.

Helps to: stregthen triceps

Notes: This stretch doesn’t use the balance board, and is one of the only

games that uses the Wii Remote. All you have to do is stretch your arms.

Exercise: Jackknife Challenge

Helps to: work abs

Challenge: see if you can do more jackknives than your trainer

Fit Credits to unlock: none, do jackknife 3 times, getting at least 1 star

each time.

Notes: I’ve only done this challenge once, because it’s incredibly easy, and

I really need to work on some other minigames I haven’t quite got the hang of

yet. This one is good if you continually work on it and do it for more than

just 10 reps. It can build your endurance for doing it longer.

Exercise: Arm and Leg Lift

Helps to: tone shoulder and hip muscles

Beginning Reps: 10 per arm/leg

Fit Credits to unlock: 160 (2 hrs. 40 min.)

Notes: This game seems easy on your dominant hand, but harder on your not-so-

dominant hand. It’s great it you want to practice pointing the wii remote

straight, because I can guarantee you that most people are going to cheat on

this exercise. If you do it correctly, then it might be worth it, but don’t

waste your time if you’re just going to point the remote.

Exercise: Hula Hoop

Helps to: align your pelvis

Rules: Swing your hips in large circles to spin faster. Catch more hoops by

leaning to the side when one is thrown at you. You can have up to 5 hoops.

Notes: I love this game! It’s so easy and fun, and I always beat my old score,

sometimes by just even 1, but this game is so relaxing and fun to watch.

Helps to: improve sense of rhythm

Rules: Step on and off the Wii Balance Board in rhythm with the other Miis.

You will need to step forwards, backwards, and to the sides.

Notes: This game is fun and easy to do! Also, it helps you be better balanced,

and learn how to follow rhythm better. It’s fun to compete with your friends to

see who can get the most perfects or highest score.

Exercise: Basic Run

Helps to: burn body fat

Fit Credits to unlock: Already Unlocked

Rules: Run in place ((not on the balance board)) and try to get a high burn

rate. Not by running fast, but by keeping a steady pace.

Notes: This is a good activity and helps burn calories. However, it’s no real

substitute for actual jogging. This is nice if you want a short, easy run, and

I guess longer when you unlock it, but it just doesn’t measure up to running

around your block even.

Exercise: 2P Run

Helps to: burn body fat

Rules: Same as Basic Run, but you have a second player running with you.

Notes: I like this game because you can race your friends, and if you run

too fast you trip, so it’s always funny when people keep tripping every second

because they’re trying to beat the other person.

Exercise: Super Hula Hoop

Helps to: align pelvis and burn off calories

Fit Credits to unlock: none, play Hula Hoop 3 times

Rules: Same as Hula Hoop, but you will be prompted which way to spin each

round.

Notes: This game, like Hula Hoop, is one of my favorites because it gets you

moving, but it also makes you pay attention to the incoming hoops. This game

is also a lot of fun at parties to have a competition and see who can get the

most spins.

d.3.7 – Rhythm Boxing

 

Exercise: Rhythm Boxing

Helps to: burn body fat

Fit Credits to unlock: 100 (1 hr. 40 min.)

Rules: Punch the punching bag in the pattern the trainer shows you. Do it to

the rhythm, and earn some easy points.

Notes: This minigame uses the nunchuck. It’s a lot like Wii Sports boxing,

except you do it in a specific rhythm. This is another game I think is fun

to compete at during a party. The only thing I don’t like is that it sometimes

seems to go on forever.

Exercise: Advanced Step

Helps to: burn off calories

Fit Credits to unlock: none, play Basic Step 4 times

Rules: Same as Basic step, but you also have to step on sideways ((purple)),

Rules: Hit the soccer balls with your head, but watch out for the cleats

Notes: This game isn’t really as fun as the others. All you really have to do

is lean left and right, so it’s more like one of the balance tests, and less

like an actual game.

Rules: Lean to the left and right and go between the flags ((slaloms)) down

the hill on your skis.

Notes: This game is okay, but it’s really hard to get more than a single star.

In fact, I haven’t got more than a single star on this game so far. It’s too

hard, in my opinion. They should make the beginner difficulty easier, and use

that course for the next difficulty rating.

Exercise: Ski Jump

Rules: Bend your knees and then lift up at the end of the hill. Keep your

balance while in the air, or your jump won’t take you very far. And don’t

jump on the board or it will count your jump as a 0.

Notes: This is an easy and quick game if you’re in a hurry, or if you’re

having a party, this is a good competitive game.

Exercise: Table Tilt

Rules: Use the balance board to tilt the table and get your ball, and your

friends’ into the hole((s)) on each level.

Notes: This game is a new twist to a classic game. It’s fun to play this

puzzle virtually, but it feels like you’re actually doing it. I like this

game because it puts together old generation games with new generation

technology.

Rules: Walk across the tightrope without falling off. YOu will need to jump

over the chompy-bomby things too.

Notes: This game is fun! It’s hard the first time, but once you find a

technique that works for you, this game is a snap, except for the expert level,

which I have yet to pass.

Exercise: Balance Bubble

Rules: Guide your Mii down the river. Don’t bump into anything or it’s game

over.

Notes: This game is extremely hard the first time, and very hard to

get the

hang of. I remember, like my 10th time playing, I got to the very last yard,

1300, and I hit the wall uder the rainbow. It took me like 5 more tries to

finally finish the thing.

Rules: Shift your weight to guide your peguin buddy to get the fish. Blue are

worth 1 point, green ae worth 2 points, and red are worth 10 points.

Notes: This game is a good one, because it’s simple, but also challenging

at the same time. The penguin suit is awesome too!

Rules: Turn your Wii Balance Board sideways like a snowboard, and go down a

hill similarly to Ski Slalom, but harder.

Notes: It’s very hard to get a good starred score in this game. I haven’t

gotten more than one, and on my first try, I got over 2 minutes. Maybe it’s

just me, but this game is really hard to get the hang of.

In your activity log, you record the exercise that you get while not playing

Wii Fit. You select the brutality of the sport or activity, then the time

that you played/took part in. It adds Fit Credits to your account, so it’s

worth doing.

Q. You dont have a description for the Ultimate Balance Test, and I need tips

A. The Ultimate Balance Test is just like the Basic Balance test, but harder.

You have to balance perfectly 50/50 to pass the last level. The only tip

I can give is to stay steady and stare at a point on the wall or floor.

It helps me balance, and I hope it helps you too!

 

Q. I need help with the Hula Hoop. I can’t get more than 33 spins, and I’m

spinning as fast as I can! ~ zacharyandcooper@hotmail.com

A. For the hula hoop games, you don’t spin fast, you spin in large circles

with your waist. The bigger the circle, the faster you’ll spin the hula

hoop.

If you want to submit a high score for a minigame, send me an email at

alissa753@hotmail.com. I will take a look at your score and post it in my

next update.

 

Rules:

1. You must send me your score, the game name, the # of stars you got, and

your GameFaq username so that I can post it in my guide.

2. You have to atleast gotten 3 stars for your score.

3. In one email, you may include 3 scores for different games. You may send a

new email each week containing scores.

4. Submit REAL scores. Don’t just send in the best possible score, because I

will only take a score once. So, I won’t have the top 5 scores all 100 points

for a certain game.

5. You can’t be in the top 5 scores of a game more than once. For example, if

you submitted 99 points last week, and then submitted 100 points this week,

you have to wait until your other score is bumped out of the top 5 to submit

your score of 100.

 

Note: After I complete the guide, during summer, I’ll update atleast once a

– I really enjoy the table tilt game in Wii Fit. The beginning levels are

somewhat easy for me, but in the higher levels, you pretty much just knock

everyone off the board. It’s kind of cool to knock someone you *cough* hate

*cough* dislike off the board. One thing that could have been changed is that

it’s not really much of a workout. Overall this is my favorite minigame in Wii

Fit.
