New York Comic Con 2009 Cosplay Gallery

NY Comic Con

The New York Comic Con has grown by leaps and bounds, evolving from a few small booths several years back to a massive production with tens of thousands of fans packing themselves into the Javitz Center. While there are so many things to see and do at the show, the audience itself can sometimes be the most entertaining part of the experience. With that in mind, here is a look of some of the costumed crusaders that attended Comic Con 2009.

Mega Man

Mega Man looks a bit different than I remember…

Batman & Robin

…as do Batman and Robin, but in this case I don’t mind.

Joker

The Joker is quite the ladies man.

Nintendo

A Nintendo family cutes up the Con.

An awesome Scorpion costume made better by the fact that I held him in that pose for 3 pictures.

…I don’t know.

A life-sized Piglet shows that cosplay can start at any age.

Wolverine

The blades protruding from his fist are no match for the Mutton Chops eating away at his face.

Riddick puts on his mean face seconds after cheerfully welcoming some ladies to the Atari booth.

More than meets the eye? No…not really.

I had never been thankful for the existence of Robin before now.

Iron Man may not be pleased about the adamantium inches away from his neck, but Superman is having a good time with his rad lightsaber.

Link prepares for battle.

Even more distracting than this hideously disfigured Two-Face is that Mario is buying a Hot Dog in the background.

Two worlds collide, only at Comic Con.

Zombies were plentiful, offering free hugs to promote House of the Dead: Overkill. I declined.

The big M left his mark on the Con with a photo-op in the lobby.

In case you weren’t sure, he is from Final Fantasy XI. See…it says it on the sign.

Ghostbusters developers donned Proton Packs and jumpsuits to promote Atari’s upcoming action title.

Fargus Fett never quite attained the level of recognition that his relatives did, but at least he travels light.

Gambit strikes a pose, though his look of befuddlement doesn’t bode well for the X-Men.

Majora’s Mask cosplay? Now I have seen everything.

The Flash captured mid-run as he sped towards the DC Universe Online area.

Lil Iron Man takes down everyone in his path during a match of Ready 2 Rumble Revolution.

A female Dante shows us how cosplay can be a good thing.

I don’t know what this is or where it’s from, but it may be the greatest picture I have ever taken.

Two things I didn’t know about Charizard: 1) he enjoys shorts. 2) he likes taking pictures of…

…Yuna, who was captured mid-dance in the halls of the Javitz.

Yes, they are using the escalator to simulate a Mario jump, and yes, they did it the entire trip.
