  • Introduction:
    • Galaga is an Xbox 360 Arcade Title originally released back in the arcades in 1981 and became an instant hit. You control a fighter space craft and help fend off against invading aliens. Download this on the Marketplace today- the game the redefined the arcade genre.
  • Controls (Default):
    • Left Stick/Directional Pade (Move)
      • Use the Left Thumbstick or the Directional Pad to move your fighter space craft either left or right.
    • A (Shot)
      • Press A to shoot your weapon with single shots.
    • B (Rapid Shot)
      • Press and hold B to shoot your weapon with rapid fire.
    • Start (Pause)
      • Press Start to pause the game.
  • Interface:
    • Level Number: Located in the bottom right corner of the screen indicated by badges.
    • Number of Lives: Located in the bottom left corner of the screen indicated by space ships.
    • Hi-Score: Located in the top central part of the screen.
    • 1-Up: Located in the top central part of the screen.
  • Game Modes:
    • Arcade Mode (Single Player)
      • The only game mode of Galaga. Play this to increase your score and destroy all of the invading aliens to move on to the next level. What was your highest level without losing a life? What was your high score?
  • General Tips and How-To’s:
    • General:
      • Defeat all enemies to advance to the next stage.
      • One fighter will be lost if you run into an enemy ship or are hit by enemy fire.
      • The game will end when you lose all fighters.
      • When only a few enemies remain they will launch a full-scale attack.
    • High Scoring:
      • More points are awarded for shooting enemies while they are attacking than when they are stationary.
      • More points are awarded for shooting the escorts flying with the boss first.
      • A special bonus is awarded for shooting all of the enemies on a Challenging Stage.
    • Dual Fighter:
      • Bosses sometimes use a tractor beam to try to capture your fighter.
      • One fighter will be lost if it gets caught in the tractor beam.
      • Shoot a boss holding a captured fighter and the fighter will join your fighter to form a Dual Fighter (earning you an achievement).
      • Dual Fighters can fire two missiles at once.
  • Leaderboards: Viewable from the Main Menu, the Leaderboards can be used to see the highscores of you, your friends, or the overall top players.
  • Achievements: There are 12 total achievements worth 200 total points.
    • Stingray (25) Find the Stingray during battle.
      Scorpion (15) Find the Scorpion during battle.
      Dual Fighter (5) Form the double ship, if you can discover the Clandestine method.
      Enemy Fighter (5) Shoot down a red captured Fighter.
      Perfect Bonus (15) Shoot down all enemies in a Challenging Stage.
      Dragonfly (10) Find the Dragonfly during battle.
      Mosquito (15) Find the Mosquito during battle.
      Galboss (30) Find the Galboss during battle.
      Blue Spaceship (30) Find the Blue Spaceship during battle.
      Stage 10 (5) Get to Stage 10.
      Stage 20 (10) Get to Stage 20.
      Stage 30 (30) Get to Stage 30.
